What a private guest link actually is

Every card on Dawatnama comes with a general link. Anybody who has it sees the same invitation, and it is the right thing to post in a group. A private guest link is the other option: one address per guest, all pointing at the same card, each showing something slightly different.

What changes for the guest

• It greets them by name. Not 'Dear Guests', but the name you typed, and in Urdu if they switch the card to Urdu.
• It states their seats. If you have held four places for a family, their page says four. Nobody has to ask and nobody arrives with six.
• It lists only their functions. A guest invited to the Walima sees the Walima and scrolls past nothing they were not invited to.

What it does not do

A private link is not a password. It is unguessable, not secret. Anyone who is forwarded it can open it, and that is the right trade: an invitation that demanded a login would be an invitation half your relatives never opened. So keep off the card anything that would matter if it were forwarded. For an invitation, that is an easy bar.

Getting the list in

The list is the real work, not the design. Add families as one entry with a headcount: 'Malik family, 5' is one row and one link. Do the big functions first and add the rest later. And you can keep adding guests after you have started sending; the pack only limits how many, never when.

Changes reach everybody

The hall changes, the Nikkah moves an hour, a phone number was wrong. You fix it once in your panel and every link you have already sent is correct the next time it is opened. That is the part people do not expect, and it is why the whole thing is worth doing.
